Pop classics... made famous with the styles of Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, Billy Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald start off the evening. Then groove with the sounds of Ray Charles, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Neil Diamond, Sting, and Van Morrison. There is no getting off this train, with the high-energy songs of rock/blues artists including Brian Setzer, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley, Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin, Kool and The Gang, and The Blues Brothers to keep you and your guests dancing late into the evening. The Music... Band Leader and guitarist/vocalist Kevin Karrick brings together the finest musicians in the region to develop the group, the sound, the essence of great swing music with a tight rhythm section, great instrumentals, smooth vocals, and classic tunes in the tradition of great swing bands. Like those great bands, the music is always arranged specifically for the Swing Essence instrumental and vocal format, offering songs that really swing, groove, or rock at the top of their class.

It's important... the band you choose for your event to be in the moment, experienced and skilled to anticipate the sonic needs for the evening. Your event is special and we understand this. Prior to the event, we carefully arrange the play list with your input, taking into account special requests, guest diversity and songs on our list which you may wish to have excluded. From this, we can select songs appropriate for the moment based on the atmosphere of the event, popularity and the vibe we sense from your guests.

Instrumentation... consists of guitar, keyboards, saxophone, drums, bass, and two vocalists. You have enough to worry about on this day, so we provide all required sound and lighting gear. Portability constraints require that we bring electronic keyboards, however if your venue has a well tuned, acoustic piano, we would be happy to make use of it at your request. Acoustic instrumentation can really give the atmosphere the elegance of a classic jazz/dinner club. Our bass player and guitarist can also perform with acoustic instrumentation for dinner and cocktails, and switch to electric instruments for the dance sets.
